India’s 17-year-old pugilist Sachin Singh (49kg) won gold at the AIBA Youth World Championships with a stunning victory over Cuban national champion Jorge Grinan in the final clash at St Petersburg, Russia. By this victory, he became third Indian after Thokchom Nanao Singh (49kg in 2008) and Vikas Krishan (60kg in 2010) to grab the Gold at this prestigious tournament.

AIBA (l’Association Internationale de Boxe Amateur or The International Boxing Association) is a sole governing body for the sport of boxing in all its forms, with 196 Member Federations.
