Ambassador Nikki R. Haley is the United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations and a member of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet.

On 23rd November 2016, then President-elect of United States Donald Trump selected  South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, a post akin to a cabinet level.

Ms Haley succeeded Samantha Power, who represented the United States at the United Nations since 2013.

U.N. ambassador is a key post, advising the White House on foreign policy issues and representing the U.S. in discussions with other countries.

Prior to her service at the United Nations, Ambassador Haley served as Governor of South Carolina.
